The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for Service;

High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve the society;

The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business and community life;

The advancement in international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of Service.

What Is Rotary?

Rotary is an international association of clubs whose purpose is to bring together business, professional and community leaders together to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and promote international understanding, peace and goodwill around the world. Founded by Paul Harris and three of his friends on 23 February 1905, Rotary is the world’s first global service organization with a membership (July 2022 data) of over 36,900 Rotary clubs (grouped into 538 Districts: 39 in India) and about 11,370 Rotaract clubs together composed of over 1.38 million service-minded men and women in over 220 countries. In India there are 4,475 Rotary Clubs. Our own District 3131 is composed of 141 Rotary Clubs and 5329 Rotarians! Rotary clubs have sponsored Interact clubs (now over 18,400) and Rotary Community Corps (about 12,370) to further deepen their Service activities.
